What is Theatre Ark?

We are all aged 14-19 years from all parts of Birmingham, and Theatre Ark is our own theatre company. We meet every Saturday morning in the city centre, and we run the company ourselves. Our directors are professional theatre workers, and we're about to begin rehearsaing the world-renowned play The Crucible by Arthur Miller - a study of mass hysteria, persecution and revenge! We're planning special candlelit performances in January 2010, but we need more boys to complete the cast. So, if you're aged between 14-19 - and male! (sorry girls!) - come along on 19th September.

13/09/09 - Arts Fest

On Sunday 13th September, Theatre Ark will make its first public outing. At 2pm in The Door, at the Birmingham REP on Centenary Square, Theatre Ark will share its work with members of the public as part of the city's renowned Arts Fest festival. The company will be sharing some aspects of creativity we have been employing to help us develop our new arts enterprise, generating and exploring questions about young people, arts and the city.

Everybody welcome - especially 14-19 year olds!
